Great easel for reading at the counter. Holds a kindle in a perfect reading position for a low price of $2.50. Works great, cheap price. What could be better? I bought 6 of them and gave them to all my kindle friends.

I found this item after reading about the $15 Kindle 2 holder from OCTO. The reviewer said something along the lines of "it does the trick, but there ought to be something cheaper." Another said something like "it's great, but doesn't disassemble easily for travel."
Lo and behold: The simple wire rack. Foldable. Vinyl coated. Four point surface contact. AND CHEAP.
I chose this model, the 3-wire, since I wasn't sure the K2 would be properly supported by the 2-wire model. When the K2 is in the rack, the top wire extends about 2" above the top, so it's mostly a good fit. This model appears to have a bigger "lip" on the bottom wire than one very similar to it. Although the vinyl would probably provide a surface "sticky" enough to hold it in place, I felt that this extra measure would be a good idea. Its about 3.25" wide, 4.50" to the joint, and about 9.50" from the front/bottom part of the lip to the top.
One could also use the 2-wire model and it would still be sufficient support. The top of the rack would meet approximately halfway up the back of the K2. It would still be sturdy enough, except for the joint where the wire pieces connect is not covered in vinyl and though there might be several homemade solutions to that problem, I opted to spring for the extra $0.25 and get the "upgraded model."
Of course this item is designed to display books for sale at a bookstore, and it would do quite well at that too. It managed a 2-lb. Easton Press hardcover with dimensions of 6"x9"x2" with ease.

I ordered this stand for my newly purchased Kindle. It is very sturdy and the Kindle easily fits on it. I like the fact that there are two of them in the package. I can leave one in the kitchen for viewing my recipes and have one on my desk. The stand is actually even nicer than I expected and it arrived earlier than the expected arrival date.
